Van de hand van Denis Durantou, één van de meest getalenteerde wijnmakers op de (steeds duurder wordende) rechter oevers van de Gironde. Hij maakt onder andere de zeer gewilde Pomerol Eglise-Clinet. La Chenade is gemaakt van jongere stokken op iets meer zandhoudende grond in wijngaard Les Cruzelles in Lalande de Pomerol. Naast 80% Merlot is er 20% Cabernet Franc toegevoegd wat iets meer verfijning en elegantie oplevert vanwege de fijne zuren en frisheid. De wijn is sappig en levendig. En bloemig met sprankelend primair rood en blauw fruit. Verder kruiderij en secundaire tonen van ceder, mokka, koffie, vanille en leer. Zeer geslaagd in topjaar 2018. Investeren betaalt dubbel uit de komende jaren.

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it opens with notes of tar, licorice and cracked black pepper, leading to a core of baked black plums, boysenberries and blackberry pie, plus a waft of woodsmoke. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers loads of earth-laced blackberry flavors with a frame of ripe, rounded tannins and bags of freshness, finishing savory. 2022 - 2035."
